we enjoyed the banter with the staff they were very good
we felt that the carpets in the rooms let the hotel down
The hotel was in a lovely location, right on the north shore. The breakfasts were formidable.
Rooms very comfortable, food excellent quality and value for money, staff very friendly.
I think the televisions need upgrading to freeview, lack of channel choice in the evening no news channel.
Quiet location, adjacent to beach & nice grounds.
The only thing I liked was the short trip to the beach.
1st the room was tiny, their was no buiscuits in the room. The room was next to the kitchen area all we could hear all night was the noise of the fans. And we was promised sea views which was a right joke, we had 2 tiny windows which we had to open by standing on the desk and their was no view at all overall overly priced and hyped .
carpet in bedroom badly stained and dirty, very small room
We were impressed firstly with the friendliness of the receptionist, and then the rest of the staff,Then the cleanliness of our room, and then the view, which was very nice.We thought the breakfasts were ample, and well cooked, also the waitress service was efficient. The evening meal in the bar was very good as well, with a good selection. The Hotel is in a very nice position, near to the beach, and not far from the town centre which is nice as you can walk to there in about 15 minutes and we did.The modernisation, and refurbishment taking place in this Hotel is on going so we were informed,by the Manager and when completed can only enhance this old but beautiful building We have enjoyed our 4 days in this Hotel, and would not hesitate to return to it , a pleasure.
Friendly staff, good food, room ok for the price.
Lovely location on a golf course with the beach 2 minutes away too. The rooms are very comfortable, this was a return visit as we had previously stayed in March and will use the hotel again in the future.
enjoyed stay staff very friendly.complimentary items in room but got charged extra for a toothbrush.Would stay again had a great nights sleep.
Liked how quiet it was. We had our room when it was on offer and was a lovely sized family room good for the monay that we paid.
only two things to complain about, the first is that the carpet was filthy in our room covered in stains, corridors etc were fine but our carpet was horrible. Also the cups were not clean.
The Hotel had a large car park so we were able to park easily. There was a short beach walk into the centre of Skeggy. The location of the hotel was nice as it was away from the noise and overlooking the beach. We requested a sea view room, which we were given. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. The hotel was clean and excellent location.
The only thing we could fault was in the pictures there were flat screen tvs in the rooms, we had a small portable tv. This wasn't really a problem as we were out most of the time. Also, as we overlooked the golfing shop the early morning golfers were quite noisy. However, we did request a sea view not realising this.
Close to the beach & clean rooms. Free parking
Wen we got to the hotel we were told that we would be staying in the "lodge" which wasn't advertised on the website and we weren't told about beforehand! The "lodge" was a very small outhouse consisting of 3 rooms. The bed was extremely small (I'm only 5 foot 5" and my feet dangled over the edge of the bed) It was like stepping back into a time warp. The tv was one of the ones that you got excited about in the 1960'S. Only a hobbit could have fitted in the bath. We didn't get breakfast in our deal so we paid for one the next day. 6.50 for quite possibly the worst breakfast I have ever had in my life- 1 pink sausage, 2 plastic bits of burnt/crispy bacon, cold beans and a very runny egg (and I'll eat anything normally!) To sum up-complete and utter rip off!!!
Very helpful and friednly staff.
A lot of noise from large parties of golfers very late into the night/early morning. One twin room had very small windows and therefore very little natural light - check before you book.
Close proximity to beach; easy walking along beach path to town centre. Excellent golf course on-site; reasonably priced buggy hire. Good restaurant and bar.
